Forward: Chopt's story hinges on the idea that all Souls games (along with Salt and Sanctuary and possibly other viable Souls-likes) take place in the same world.  I know it's an idea that's been kiboshed by From Software, but I feel the fast and loose way the games play with parallel worlds and timelines, along with the cycle of civilizations rising and falling, gives sufficient wiggle room for this.  Helps that Miyazaki himself has said that he only presents people with what he feels he needs to in order for them to use as a basis for their own interpretations and thus stories.

 Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Chopt has a slight frame with a bit of muscle, but not very noticeable unless she were to strip to the barest necessities.  She's slightly shorter than the average girl.

2. How old is she?
Think up the biggest number you can.  Chopt's older than that.

3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?
Typically very formal and polite.  Straight back, engaging in a reasonable level of eye contact.

4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Chopt's typically in good health, if only because if she were fatally injured she'd die and be resurrected shortly thereafter.  Her immortality helps take the edge off illnesses as well, but she can still get sick and doesn't have any kind of big immunities.  It's also slowed her aging down to the crawliest of crawls.  She certainly looks older than she did when she was taken to the demon hellscape, but only by a few years instead of a few hundred thousand million billion trillion etc.

5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
When she has to move, Chopt moves fast.  She's gotten plenty of exercise running, and can have bursts of even greater speed.  In a fight her style is simple yet effective, sometimes holding back while patiently waiting for openings, other times forceful and aggressive.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?
One might say Chopt looks cute, but she lacks a mature attractiveness.  And if she looked at herself in a mirror she'd be more concerned with her health than cosmetic appearance.

7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Fairly fair-skinned, and devoid of scars.  Thanks resurrection powers!

8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.
Chopt's hair is a reddish brown, cut to her shoulders with a small bun on the side made by strategic use of two hairclips.

9. What color are her eyes?
Blue

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
Nope.

11. What are her chief tension centers?
Her neck and her shoulders.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?
Chopt's clothing has changed as she's gone from era to era.  Typically she opts for light, but still protective materials.

13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?
Her clothes fit well enough, and they're comfortable enough for her to roll around in.

14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?
Free time would see her wearing whatever normal people of that era would wear.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Whatever underwear she can get her hands on.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Chopt's voice is fairly soft and feminine, what you'd expect from a girl in her mid- or late-teens.

2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?
Chopt speaks with a polite informality.  She'd be very respectful and honest.  When red flags are being raised though, or it's fight time, she'd be much more stern and direct, raising her voice to the point of yelling and disregarding politeness entirely.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
She'd use a lot of "really"s and "very"s and expressions of gratitude, if that counts.

4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
Japanese was her primary language initially, though she's aeons out of practice with it.  She's built up solid English skills though.  She also knew a bit of Korean before, but if her Japanese is bad then her Korean's a trainwreck.

5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
English has worked for her so far.  What few Asian-inspired Souls characters she's met have either been silent or English-speakers themselves.

6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?
In casual company she speaks freely and words come easy.  When things are more tense she'll be much more careful and deliberate with her words.

7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Not so much eloquent, but she minds her manners normally.  When she's angry or fighting though she's not above being blunt or accusatory/

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?
Prior to shit happening, she was neither.  Her adventures have at least made her more street-smart though, and she usually learns a lot about whatever the big deals in an era are by the end of it.

2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?
Chopt's had a lot of experience in fighting and has sufficient experience that she can manage adjusting battle plans mid-fight.  That said if she's caught by surprise or encountering something new, she'll probably need time to think about how to tackle it.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Very intuitive, with a strange blend of idealism and practicality. She means well and tries to do good everywhere she can, but sometimes she's had to do bad things for a good reason.  And she's not above fighting and killing people responsible for Bad Things that have weaseled out of facing justice, for no other reason than to see to it they don't go unpunished.  Old King Doran's a very good example of this.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
Until her little attempt at summoning demons, education in a normal environment with her barely coasting along.  After that, she had a lot of learning about what to do or not do so you don't get killed.

5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?
Chopt has developed into being a very good fighter, specializing in melee weapons with an affinity for swords.  At times she's dabbled in various schools of magic, though mostly for the sake of finding ways to make her weapons stronger, and her trip to Yharnam had her pick up using a handgun.

What she wants to actually learn about though are other people and the world as a whole.  The world in the hopes that if she helps stop enough apocalyptic events her own era will begin, and the people so she can remember those that help her in whatever ways they do.

6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert?
More introvert than extrovert.  She knows that she's going to outlive pretty much everyone she interacts with, but at the same time she's honest and friendly with most people.  And again, she doesn't want to forget everyone who's helped her on her journey.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Normally Chopt is friendly and even-tempered, even willing to tolerate mild, inconveniencing pranks.  She's had a lot of time to grow out of the petty, vengeful girl she was at the start of all this.  But she also wears her heart on her sleeve.  When she's "on the clock" as it were though, when bad things are happening, it's going to affect her even if she still presses on regardless.

She's also will to recognize (though not always accept) the imperfections and problems of the world.  Bad stuff happens and sometimes people just following their own paths and what they believe in will end up at odds with each other, and you have to understand that or you'll just be bogged down thinking everyone who goes against you is an outright enemy.

In the end, her most defining personality trait is resolve.  Resolve to not give in to hopelessness of never seeing her family again, resolve to not give into the bleakness of a situation, resolve to fix the problems she's walked into, and resolve to help as many people as she can get through it either.

8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Depends on the people and the conditions where she meets them in.  Someone friendly and offering help to her too will find her appreciative and thankful.  Someone standing over a pile of freshly dead corpses and insisting he found them like that will most likely be attacked unless he's got one hell of a story.

She's also been backstabbed a few times by seemingly helpful individuals, leading her to also be suspicious of anyone that's seeming too helpful... though in most cases she'll play along and see how things play out.

9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?
Chopt's a reactionary force.  Shit happens, she ends up there, she works her way through it.

10. Which is her default: fight or flight?
Fight.  Always fight.  Even when up against a humongous, hammer-wielding demon with nothing but a broken sword hilt.  It might take her a long time, but between her determination, reflexes, and ability to learn she'll be able to break through pretty much any skill wall.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Pretty accepting of most forms of humor, just not very witty herself.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?
Considering the literal and figurative Hells that Chopt has gone through, she's a beacon of hope and resolve.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
Her attempt at summoning demons obviously defined the course her life would take, but the moments that have defined her as a person are the times she's had to do difficult things she wouldn't have if the world were a fairer place.  At the top of that list: killing Garl Vinland and then witnessing Astraea committing suicide.  Neither were bad people, but their deaths were necessary to save Boletaria.  Fighting Sif for the Covenant of Artorias is right up there too.

Since then, she's steeled herself for the fact that sometimes good people have to do seemingly bad things.  It's not fun or something she takes joy in, but she knows she's not supposed to.

14. What does she fear?
That she really never will get back home.  She used to be afraid of demons on account of the immense period of time she spent being trapped with them, but she's since gotten over that.  Killing swarms of them helps a lot.

15. What are her hopes or aspirations?
Getting back home.

16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
That she was once so petty that she tried to summon demons to kill everyone who bullied, picked on, or so much as did something she took personal offense to.  Also, she doesn't want anyone to know her real name.

Also, she killed Priscilla.  Well, killed her physical body so her spirit could be reborn, possibly as the Emerald Herald Yorshka.  It's "kill-saving".  Shut up.  Priscilla's insane.  She needed to be put out of her misery.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.
It's been a long, long, LONG time since Chopt's seen her parents.  But she still loves them, now more than she ever did before.  Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and after all the stuff she's been through, mild parental disappointment at the weak girl she once was seems like water under the bridge.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
One little sister.  She had a better standing relationship with her than her parents prior to the summoning incident, but again, Chopt really didn't come to appreciate them fully until being cut off from them.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?
None that really matter.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
She's met many, many people on her journey that have made the difference between failure and success for her.  In a way she considers them all family, because just like her they all struggle towards their own goals, sometimes helping Chopt out or being helped by her.  And she wants as many of them to succeed as possible, because if they do, then it's more hope that one day she will too.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Makenna, a witch that she met during her adventures in Lordran.  They helped each other throughout several legs of their own respective quests, first meeting in the Undead Parish and working together to defeat the Bell Gargoyles.  Makenna's managed to avoid Hollowing out in spite of bearing the Darksign, and has joined Chopt in several other adventures.

6. Does she have other close friends?
Ornstein, or rather one version of Ornstein in particular.  His own brand of immortality has let them cross paths multiple times over the span of eras.  They fought in Lordran with Chopt narrowly besting him and Smough (or possibly illusions of them controlled by the originals, stuff's vague), but at some point between the DS1 and DS2 eras, she and Ornstein fought again with Chopt losing her sword while Ornstein's armor was charred black.  Their paths came together again in Drangleic, begrudgingly joining forces to defeat Smough (who had stolen Ornstein's armor and gone around impersonating him) and several other threats.

Other than that, she typically becomes good friends with various people in each era she fights alongside, just so long as they don't pull a 180 and turn out to be assholes.

7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?
Typically she can make friends easily, unless the other party and her develop some sort of mutual grudge with neither one wanting to relent.  Her relationship with Ornstein's a good example.

8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
To Chopt, close family and close friends are one in the same.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
Single.

10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
No.  Chopt is very friendly and even affectionate, but in a purely platonic way.

11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?
First crush was some cute boy in school with her.  When she confessed to him and he didn't reciprocate, a lot of people made fun of her for it, even though the boy didn't.  She came out of that hating all of them.  Since then she really hasn't had any more, but that's just because romance would further complicate things.

12. What does she look for in a romantic partner?
Not looking for one period.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?
No children.  She doesn't know how pregnancy would work with her immortality and she doesn't want to test it for obvious moral reasons.

14. Does she have any rivals or enemies?
For actual enemies, she's done a good job killing them all.  Ornstein is an exception, but their relationship has improved to the point of being civil, though not chummy, rivals.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?
Chopt's not put any real thought into it.

16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
Not important at all, though she knows it's an expression of love.  Or at least when all parties are consenting.  Her time in the Hellscape's made her well aware of how fucked up it can get.

17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Not gonna answer that.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
Chopt is... apparently a Gemini.  Only just looked it up.  It feels apt, with the two sides representing the person she once was embodying the worst of the sign (impulsiveness, pettiness, even deviousness), while she's since grown to embody the best of the sign (independence, adaptability, and being kindhearted).  She's not as talkative as some Gemini are though.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
Chopt's seen a lot of crazy stuff, and dabbling with demons is what dug her into a hole in the first place.  She recognizes the power of magic and gods and all that other supernatural stuff and she takes it seriously, but she does not need any kind of divine motivation for being a good person.  That and most gods she's had to deal with have been dicks.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
Chopt's developed a very strong code of ethics starting at her time in Boletaria, a code that hinges on the idea that when bad stuff happens, she's got to sort through it no matter how physically and emotionally challenging it is.  She tries to be a good person, trying to also avoid killing or even hurting other good people too... but there's nevertheless come many, many times that she has had to fight people duty bound to walk a path that opposes her own.  Astraea, Sif, Quelaag, Velstadt, Maria... she's no stranger to having to do and fight people she doesn't want to.  She doesn't hold any personal animosity towards them, and she hopes the feeling's mutual... and in a civil environment she'd likely apologize to them first thing.

That said... when Chopt feels that someone needs to die she's quite merciless.  As mentioned above, if she feels that someone has done nothing but made a situation worse through deliberate action but is going to get off clean she'll take justice into her own hands.  In Boletaria she killed Old King Doran for his part in the near-destruction of the kingdom, even though Doran at worst was an ambivalent neutral party who simply gave King Allant a powerful sword.  Still, when you found a kingdom and make it a cornerstone for stability, you don't fucking let a successor turn around and damn near bring it and the world to ruin.  And when someone comes in looking for a weapon to maybe have a better chance against the evil king, you don't just go "OH SURE, BUT FIRST I GOTTA TEST YOUR WORTH!".

The one exception is Patches.  Whether he's another immortal, or just countless men with the same name and perchance for dickery, Chopt doesn't really mind him at all.  Part of it is the overall ineffectiveness of his/their attempts at killing her, and part of it is how he/they try to cover their asses when their schemes fail..

4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Quite tolerant, so long as it entails treating people fairly.

5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
Even though it has somehow factored into each leg of her journey (at least as of Bloodborne), Chopt refuses to wield the Moonlight Greatsword.  Even in Yharnam, where proper swords were few and far between, she chose to use the city's more exotic weapons instead.  Whether or not the weapon is safe doesn't matter to her; it's been associated with Seath and one of his reincarnations, and that spells bad news.  Ludwig's eventual fate didn't help any.

It's less a prejudice and more just an overall frustration, but she also is annoyed at how nearly every demon she's met has been completely evil.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Chopt typically has enough resources (though not necessarily money) to get by.

2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?
Chopt typically is an outsider in any era.

3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
Chopt is a wanderer, and whenever shit's not going down she'll make due with the cheapest livable areas she can afford.  Whenever there's a crisis to resolve though, she'll have a home base (the Nexus, Firelink Shrine, etc.) but that's more a place to go when it's time to regroup.

Home is what she's ultimately trying to get back to.  With her family.  Everything else is just a rest stop.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
Nothing, really.  Between the Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne eras she was probably maintaining her more sentimental gear but getting squid'd derailed that idea.

5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
In her down time, Chopt's travelled around, doing odd jobs whenever anyone's needed it and she's needed the money.

6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
Chopt has a soft spot for music.  She can't really enjoy it while saving the world unfortunately.

7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Chopt technically doesn't need to eat since upon death she'll revive in good health.  That said, starving to death is a brutal way to go so Chopt tries to regularly eat.

Associations
Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is her favorite:

1. Color?
Red, blue, or black

2. Smell?
Nothing in particular normally, though ash and soot during the Dark Souls 1 and 2 eras, and the moon of all things during the Bloodborne era.

3. Time of day?
The morning.

4. Season?

Spring

5. Book?

No favorite book, but I think The Little Engine that Could embodies her quite well.

6. Music?
I Had a Name

7. Place?
Favorite place?  Home.  Easy.

8. Substance?
Her sword.  Found broken, reforged with Astraea's soul to honor her memory, broken again by the wear and tear of time, reforged again this time with Sif's soul to honor him and Artorias, lost during her rematch with Ornstein, found during her journey through Brume Tower, safely stored away during her intended "scouting" visit to Yharnam with the intent of breaking it out when the time came for busting heads, and then presumably lost when that recon trip devolved/evolved into much, much more and she got turned into a squid.  Finally found one last time by transposing the Soul of the Blood of the Wolf.

9. Plant?
She'd like anything that smells sweet.

10. Animal?
Crows and ravens.  Rarely hostile, and associated with Eileen.  And Eileen's awesome so yeah.  Also wolves due to her connections with Artorias.
